She held the title of Miss Teen South Africa in 1991
TerBlanche was born in South Africa on January 7, 1973 from Rustenburg, South Africa. She kickstarted her career by becoming Miss Teen South Africa in 1991 before transitioning into the realm of daily soap operas. She made her acting debut on the popular African series Egoli: Place of Gold from 1992 to 1995. Seeking new prospects, she decided to move to Los Angeles instead of staying in South Africa. Her goddaughter, Barbie Ashley also confirmed her death news.
After spending a year in Los Angeles, Terblanche landed a major role on the show All My Children. She portrayed a Hungarian princess who becomes romantically involved with Cameron Mathison's character, Ryan Lavery. This opportunity was her big break in the acting industry.
In 2001, Gillian's character was removed from the show when the actress, TerBlanche, wanted to leave and return to South Africa. However, in 2011, as the soap opera came to a close after forty years, TerBlanche made a special appearance as Gillian's ghost.
