She was born on April 5, 1962, Lana grew up in Sonoma County with her parents Donna and James M. Clarkson and siblings Jessee J. Clarkson and Fawn. Clarkson had minor roles in movies from the 1980s such as "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Scarface." Additionally, she appeared on various well-known TV shows including "Three's Company," "The Jeffersons," "Who's the Boss?" and "Knight Rider." Her acting career started to slow down, though, eventually.

In the early 2000s, Lana Clarkson decided to switch gears and try her hand at stand-up comedy. However, her plans were derailed in 2001 when she suffered a serious fall and had to undergo a long recovery process. By early 2003, she found work at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip to support herself and here she met Phil Spector, who would later become her killer.

She was found dead inside the mansion of Phil Spector

On February 3, 2003, Lana Clarkson was found dead with a gunshot wound to the mouth in Phil Spector's mansion after meeting him at a club the night before. A chauffeur who drove them home heard a gunshot and saw Spector holding a gun saying he thinks he shot her.

Later, Phil Spector claimed that Lana Clarkson killed herself by waving a gun around and even stated that she "kissed the gun." The first trial for Clarkson's death ended in a mistrial in 2007 due to a hung jury, but Spector was eventually found guilty of second-degree murder in 2009.

Phil Spector was accused of shoving a gun into actress Lana Clarkson's mouth and pulling the trigger when she rejected him and tried to leave his Castle. His defense claimed that Clarkson, frustrated with her career, turned the gun on herself.

Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison and his appeals were unsuccessful. He died in January 2021 from COVID-19 complications at age 81, as confirmed by his daughter Nicole Audrey Spector. He would have been eligible for parole in 2024.

Lana Clarkson was rumored to be dating TV producer Jerry Perzigian, but there isn't much other information about her romantic relationships. Her friend Dianne Bennett shared in an interview that Lana was looking to settle down and find the right partner.
