Mary and her father David have been big fans of Ledecky, supporting her and cheering her on throughout her career. This support led to Ledecky's impressive Olympic debut at the young age of 15 in London in 2012, where she won her first gold medal. She continued to excel at the Rio Games in 2016 and the Tokyo Games in 2020 (held in 2021), thanks in part to the encouragement from Mary and David.
