Munjya Movie Plot


In 1952, a young Brahmin boy named Goya fell in love with Munni, who was seven years older than him. Despite his family's disapproval, Goya decided to perform some rituals in the jungle to prove his love. Tragically, he died during the process and was buried under a tree.

In the current setting of Pune, we meet Bittu, a college student who works at a salon alongside his mother Pammi. He shares heartwarming moments with his grandmother at home. Bittu has feelings for his childhood friend Bella, but hesitates to confess them as she is in a relationship with an English man named Kuba.

Bittu often has bad dreams and hears strange whispers from the haunted peepal tree. He goes to visit his family in the village with his mother and grandmother, where he discovers hidden truths about his father and their connection to a dangerous place called chetuk-baari where Munjya's spirit resides in the trees. Bittu's world is turned upside down when he becomes trapped by Munjya, leading to a surprising and comical series of events.
