Manfred Westheimer was the third and the real husband of Ruth Westheimer who spoke freely about sex and private subjects who encouraged for engaging in open discussions regarding sexual issues with a non-judgmental approach.

Two of Westheimer's marriages were short-lived. After two divorces, she married Manfred "Fred" Westheimer, a fellow Holocaust survivor, for the third time at the age of 32. She said: "I was so short – 4 feet 7 inches – that I couldn't believe that anything could grow inside of me."

She called this marriage the "real marriage" and said it informed her relationship advice. The Catskills ski tow is where she first laid eyes on Fred. She spoke English, German, French, and Hebrew.

His response to Diane Sawyer's question about their sexual life during their 60 Minutes interview was, "The shoemaker's children have no shoes." His death in 1997 ended their 36-year marriage.

Miriam Yael Westheimer spent six years in Israel before marrying Joel Henry Einleger; Joel Westheimer was a professor at the University of Ottawa; and she had four grandkids.

She lived in a three-bedroom apartment on 190th Street "in Washington Heights where she raised her two children and became famous, in that order" was Westheimer's home in her twilight years.

She frequently attends the Tonight Show, the Dr. Oz Show, Nightline, The Howard Stern Radio Show, and Late Night with David Letterman.

She was named one of the 100 Most Fascinating People of All Time by People magazine in 1998. For over 30 years, Dr. Ruth was the expert everyone turned to when the conversation veered toward sexual matters.

She was named number thirteen on Playboy's list of the 55 most influential sex figures of the last 55 years in the magazine's 2009 55th anniversary issue. Westheimer appeared to be the last person to be providing explicit sexual advice when she made her radio debut, despite being well into her 50s.

Still, it bolstered her allure even more. She would joyfully start off-the-record conversations about the penis, condoms, and the secret to achieving ecstasy during sexual encounters.
