The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently announced the tentative vacancies for Grade C and Grade D posts in their latest SSC Stenographer Notification for the year 2024. Education Qualification


To be eligible to apply for the SSC Stenographer 2024 Exam, a candidate must have completed at least 12th grade from a recognized Board or University. It is important for the candidate to have the necessary documents ready for verification if they pass the exam.

Age Limit


Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years old, born not before 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2006. For the Stenographer Grade 'D' position, candidates must be between 18 to 27 years old, born not before 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006. Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PwD categories (unreserved - 10 years, OBC - 13 years, SC/ST - 15 years).

Application Fee

Candidates from General and OBC categories have to pay an application fee of Rs. 100 for the SSC Stenographer 2024 exam. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen categories, as well as female candidates, do not have to pay any application fee for the same exam.

Steps to Apply Online


Click on the official link provided above or visit the SSC website https://ssc.gov.in/ directly. Once you reach the registration page, click on the New User/Register Now link. You will need to enter basic details such as your name, parents' name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number to start the application process.

Candidates should carefully review and confirm their information before finalizing their form submission. Upon submission, all candidates will receive a unique Registration ID.

To proceed with the registration process, candidates must use this ID along with their date of birth and password. Following this, candidates will need to upload their photographs and signatures as per the guidelines provided by the Staff Selection Commission of India. Part II of the application form for SSC Stenographer 2024 can be completed by logging in with the registered ID and password.

SSC Stenographer Salary


Candidates who are provisionally appointed as Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) will receive an initial monthly salary of 5200, with a basic salary of 14500. They will also receive various allowances and deductions such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Provident Fund, and Income Tax. Similarly, candidates appointed as Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) will also receive an initial monthly salary of 5200, with a basic salary of 7600 and other allowances and deductions.
