On January 26, 2011, Crainer launched his first YouTube channel, MrCrainer (deleted), where he would typically post videos of himself playing Minecraft. A Super Meat Boy playthrough was his first-ever gameplay video, and it was released in February 2011. He would also play Diablo and Magika on this channel.

He also keeps a dog named Bobby and a cat named Melvin. He quit school to pursue his passion of gaming, which he had since he was a young child. Benjamin married Thea in the year 2019. Benjamin began Twitch streaming in 2011.

Lanceypooh, a sizable Twitch streamer at the time, was later contacted by Mr. Crainer. Before becoming well-known, Crainer and Lancey used to stream frequently. Lancey moved to YouTube in 2013 and stopped recording.

Lanceypooh posted a video to YouTube in 2020 in which he detailed the abuse he had received from Crainer while they were filming.  But Lancey's Crainer video was made private in January 2021. Lancey said on Twitter that he would like to speak with Crainer when he has some free time. Eventually, the two made up and worked through their issues.

Crainer started his current YouTube channel on February 22, 2014. Early on in his YouTube career, Crainer got back together with Lanceypooh. Before RippedRick joined them, the two used to record videos of them playing Minecraft. Rascals was the later name of the trio. Crainer abruptly left the group later on.
